Sun Still

from Herbal Rituals by Judith Berger

.

Though the forest be wrapped in chill

Though the winds of ice they blow

Though the rain falls hard and deep

I trust

The Cycle

.

This too shall soon be past

For now

I honor this darkness

I sit

In the silence

.

I release burdens to the waters

I plant dreams in the earth

I leave gifts and sing songs to the trees

I ask the well ones to guide me

I give thanks for the simple things

.

I honor this darkness

I sit in the silence

I sit with the silence

I sit in the silence

I give thanks

I trust

The Cycle

Blessed Solstice my fellow beings ✨

Deep Below

Thought I’d switch it up this week and share a video poetry readsong. Hope you enjoy :}

Come

From deep

Below

Been

.

Here

.

Long

.

Time

.

Come from deep below

Go to get the magick

Down

Down

Down

.

Come from deep below

Been

Here

Long

Time

.

Come from deep below

She’s wandering, heady

Think she’s got it all

But lo, she kisses not the whole

I am grieving and

Hold

Her

Key

Come from deep below

Been

Here

Long

Time

Come from deep below

.

Soul, Soul, Soul

My cries will call her home

Go to get the magick

Down, Down, Down

.

Come from deep below

Been

Here

Long

Time

.

.

Come from deep below

Haggard, dripping

Starving,twisting

Beaten, shackled

Refused, judged

Fixed…Or attempted

Turn

To

Rage

.

Soul, Soul, Soul

My grief will call her home

Go to get the magick

Down, down, down

.

Come from deep below

Been

Here

Long

Time

.

Over

And over

And over

I come from deep below

Been here

I’ve been here

A long

Long

Long

Time”

Prompt: Praise

Photo by Johannes Plenio on Pexels.com

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about something in your life you are thankful for? Even if it is nothing, in honor of this no/thing, write a piece beginning with: “Praise….”

Here’s what came of mine…I’d love to hear yours :}

Praise

The struggle

The birth

The dark, dripping, cavernous tunnel.

Praise

These gifts

These todlings

Borne from mindform

Pierced through beyond.

Praise

The incubation

The quadruple

Of mindsprout

Germination

Forming.

Praise

The hecklers

The naysayers

Inside

And reflected

Initiating

To stand tall

In nothing.

Praise

The silence

The stillness

The driveway

Fire sanctuary

The boat

Holding

Against swirling, thrashing

Abyss.

Praise

Great Mystery

And cycles of despairing

At pace

And progress

Of Unfolding.

Praise be

These babies

Coming through

Coming to

Making way to do that which I do not know

Into the world.

Praise.

Darkness

Let the darkness eat your eyes

it will give them back to you

and you will know

compassion

Let the darkness

tear open your form

release your

glowing innards

Let the darkness

leave you still

on the cold, cold earth

watch it play

as you stand witness

your eyes, its form

Let the darkness heal you

stitch you back together

fill your occiputs

nuzzle your cheek

This friend

it teaches

it heals

it terrifies

it waits

Let the darkness eat your eyes

it will give them back to you

and you will
